Meet Sam — the Marine behind the mission

My name is Sam Floyd, and I'm the founder and roaster behind Operation Coffee. I served in the Marine Corps from 2002 to 2006 and deployed to Afghanistan from 2003 to 2004.

I started Operation Coffee in 2017, after 11 years of battling my mental health and struggling to adjust to civilian life. For a long time I didn't feel like I belonged anywhere. My identity was in the Marine Corps, and once that was over, I lost my sense of mission. It got to the point where I believed the lie that my mission here was over.

Getting help is where my new mission began. Operation Coffee became my way to fight the silent battles so many veterans face — PTSD, addiction, anxiety, and the isolation that too often leads to suicide. My mission is simple: start conversations over coffee, and help our heroes find their new mission.

Every bag we roast is small-batch, made to order right here in Wisconsin. And every bag does more than wake you up — a portion of every sale is donated to Semper Fi & America's Fund and other veteran-focused charities. When you drink Operation Coffee, you're part of the conversation that begins the healing.

We were honored to share this mission on NBC's TODAY Show — but the real story is every veteran, caregiver, and coffee lover who has become part of it. Thank you so much for your support. It truly means the world to me.
